Top 4 in Action (Discussion)

chelseaFC saidMon, 18 Aug 2008 16:16:56 -0000 ( Link )

Chelsea kicked Pompey around and scored 4 goals while dominating their opposition.

Manchester United had a tough fight on their hands with Newcastle. The 1-1 draw was a great result for Newcastle.

Arsenal did just enough to beat West Brom 1-0. A packed Emirates saw their side move and weave at will.

Liverpool was bailed out by Fernando Torres in the late stages to secure the win over Sunderland.

Tough luck for Manchester… go Newcastle! But yeah, Chelsea probably played best in their opening match out of the 4. It should be interesting to see what happens once things pick up the pace.

I agree, one game does not mean anything. Last season Manchester United drew their first and yes still won the league.

So how’s the league progressing in your opinion?

As a Liverpool fan, I’m not unhappy. Still no losses. The games could have been a bit better, but I guess it’s the final score that always counts.

    What do you guys think?

Back in the saddle after some time off..

Chelsea go into the weekend in top form, at the top of table but they have many injuries

Liverpool are just behind Chelsea and are playing solid football, they look like a serious contender

Man Utd are getting their act together and are climbing towards the top 4.

Arsenal are up and down but battling, they are too young and lack experience

I would be extremely happy if I were a Liverpool fan. They have the depth and talent to compete and so far you could not have asked for a better start in the league. Its still early though and there is so much drama left to unfold

Chelsea lost to Man Utd, United now have the upper hand to close down on Liverpool

Liverpool drew and that was a costly drop in points.

Even though I’m not too happy about Manchester winning, I’m at least glad it wasn’t a 0-0 boring game. Chelsea didn’t play too well, but United managed to take advantage of that nicely.

Chelsea are done and mellowed out.

    Arsenal are getting hammered.
